![]() | Atlas of Ethnic Conflicts, Border Disputes & Ideological ClashesBy Andrew Andersen |
|
This web resource was created to introduce the interested reader to the background of and the basic data about various ethnic, religious, ideological and territorial conflicts that may lead to the development of political instability and global insecurity. The complexities of international policy since the end of the Cold War, multiple armed conflicts accompanied by ethnic cleansing and atrocities, aggravation of nationalism and intolerance are only some of the reasons that demonstrate how important it is to understand the nature of these conflicts. This site contains historical maps of the most troubled areas of the world marked by ethnic and religious conflicts, disputed borders and conflicting historical myths, graphic charts explaining political systems of various countries and articles covering the most dramatic modern conflicts. Some of the texts, charts and maps posted on the sites of this resource are quite unique and cannot be found anywhere else on the net. They were created as a result of a laborious research using and combining the variety of books and other sources some of which are out of print. © All articles, maps and charts are copyright protected and may not be duplicated without permission of their authors. |
